While he frequently associates with, and features on tracks by Swisha House artists, Slim Thug himself is not a member of Swisha House. He is officially signed to Geffen Records through The Neptunes' record label, Star Trak Entertainment.

Slim Thug's debut album, "Already Platinum", was released 12 July 2005. It features the singles "Like a Boss", "Three Kings", "I Ain't Heard Of That", and "Incredible Feeling". The album debuted at #2 on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart.

Slim Thug has had quite some success with his Mix Tape releases, such phrases in his songs include "Before Jimmy cut the check, it was 50 on my neck And over 50 in my ear", "I've been Tha Boss down South, I'm just new to a few" his is latest album is titled "Already Platnium." Hence his tagged himself the self-proclaimed "Big Boss of the South", referring to the the U.S. south, and "Big Boss of the North", referring to North Houston, Texas, the neigbourhood where he grew up.
